Isabelle John

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in Astroparticle Physics at the University of Turin in the group of Alessandro Cuoco. Previously, I pursued a PhD in Theoretical and Computational Astroparticle Physics at Stockholm University and The Oskar Klein Centre with Tim Linden. In September 2024, I defended my PhD thesis How The Positron Became Cool: A Study of Cosmic-Ray Positrons From Pulsars and Dark Matter .

The overall aim of my research is to understand the origin and propagation of cosmic rays, highly energetic charged particles produced in a variety of astrophysical processes. My research interests also include the nature of dark matter, which I study through different strategies: I search for indirect dark matter signals in cosmic rays and I study the effect of dark matter on the evolution of stars.
